Meet Michael Simon, DDS

Dr. Michael Simon has been practicing dentistry in Los Angeles for over 23 years. He began his practice in Palos Verdes Estates in May 2005, and is a proud resident of the South Bay LA.
A 1996 Dean’s List graduate of the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Simon quickly relocated to sunny Los Angeles where he undertook a General Practice Residency in 1996-97 at the renowned Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Upon completing the residency and receiving his California license, he associated in private practice for 8 years prior to setting up his current practice.
Dr. Simon is an active member in the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity, and the West Los Angeles Dental Society.
He has completed (and annually continues) many hours of continuing education in cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, CPR, OSHA regulations, laser dentistry and implant dentistry. Dr. Simon is certified to provide Invisalign® orthodontic treatment. He and his hygiene team are also certified to use Soft Tissue Diode Lasers for a number of clinical applications in hygiene and restorative procedures.
Personal
When not working hard to improve his patients’ oral health, Dr. Simon can be found on a mountain riding a snowboard or mountain bike (depending on the weather); or enjoying live music from his favorite bands with friends. He is also an avid traveler and sports fan. He lives right down the street in South Redondo Beach.

Roberta – Office Manager
“My introduction into dentistry and dental office management was purely accidental 25 years ago, and I am happy to say that it has become a fulfilling and rewarding career.”
Experience
Roberta recently moved to California from Indiana, where she worked for a family dental practice for over 25 years. Her career in dentistry began by processing dental claims for Prudential. This helped her thrive upon transitioning into management for private practice. She’s passionate, knowledgeable, and experienced about everything that goes on in a dental practice. Be sure to ask her any questions you might have at your appointment.
Personal
When out of the office, Roberta keeps busy with her big family. She recently became a Nana to her first granddaughter, Zoe. She also has 4 step-grandsons that occupy her time with games and activities.
Jess – Registered Dental Hygienist
“It is so fulfilling to help people with the look and health of their teeth. I enjoy educating them about and demonstrating new techniques and products that will improve their smile, self-confidence, and overall health.”
Experience
Jess has been working in the dental field for almost 15 years — 6 as a dental assistant, and 9 as a registered dental hygienist. She studied dental hygiene at West LA College and UCLA School of Dentistry, graduating in 2011.
Personal
Jess grew up in Manhattan Beach, and currently lives in San Pedro. She is the proud mother of a 5-year-old daughter and a 10-month-old baby boy. Jess enjoys spending time with her kids, playing outdoors, and staying as active as possible. When she has time for herself, her favorite thing to do is yoga.

Following that, she worked for a short time with another dentist who used to practice in Dr. Simon’s current location, before moving on to 27 years of keeping smiles shining at a family dental practice in Torrance.

Outside the office, Michelle can often be found in nature. She loves hiking the Palos Verdes trails around Del Cerro Park and Portuguese Bend. An avid traveler, Hawaii is her favorite vacation spot. Michelle also loves photography. She is fond of taking photos of her pets, and also photos of other wildlife at the South Coast Botanic Garden, where she is a member.

DEXIS Digital X-rays
We are committed to bringing our patients the safest and highest quality of care — and one of the ways we do that is through our digital x-ray system. The DEXIS system provides greatly improved diagnostic capabilities for our patients. It also significantly lessens radiation exposure by up to 80-90% compared to old film x-rays. It is more comfortable for patients, saves time, and allows patients to see their dental conditions right away — which is helpful in understanding treatment options.
DEXIS Intra-Oral Cameras
The images from our DEXIS Intra-Oral high-definition cameras are clear and highly detailed. They are about the size of your finger, and provide live video, enhanced imaging and detection. They have become an invaluable diagnostic tool and allow us to see in extreme detail everything that’s going on in your mouth.
Sirona Soft Tissue Lasers
A minimally invasive, precise, and comfortable alternative to traditional treatments, soft tissue lasers provide more patient comfort. They work without heat, drilling, or vibration to offer more efficient treatments in less time with less anesthesia required. Greatly reduced swelling, bleeding, post-operative discomfort, and patient anxiety also benefit our patients. Gum reshaping and recontouring, tongue tie procedures, and periodontal pocket reduction are some procedures that are more easily done with a laser — preventing the necessity for conventional scalpel and blade surgical procedures.
3M True Definition Intraoral Scanner
This digital impression system that makes the old physical impressions technique obsolete, improving the quality of many restorative, cosmetic, and preventive treatments. Crowns and Bridges, Veneers, and Clear Aligners will all fit better than ever before using this technology.
